Applied Workflows
Workflow-oriented remote sensing patterns for real-world analysis problems.
Each workflow here explains how a method works, end to end: framing the question, choosing and preparing imagery, measuring, separating signal from confounders, validating, and recording the run so it can be repeated. Who needs each result and why is covered in Applications, and each workflow links to the domains it serves. Where these methods can be run is a separate choice, discussed in What is Remote Sensing Labs?.
NDVI Monitoring
Track vegetation condition through time with NDVI, from framing the comparison to flagging anomalies worth a closer look.
Agricultural Analysis
Read crop condition, within-field variability, and seasonal development from a cloud-screened time series tied to the crop calendar.
Burn Severity Mapping
Map how strongly a fire changed the landscape by differencing pre- and post-fire Normalized Burn Ratio, then classify and calibrate the result.
Flood Mapping
Delineate flood extent from optical water indices or radar backscatter, separate new water from permanent water, and report it by the units responders use.
Urban Expansion
Measure where built-up land has spread between dates, attribute the conversions, and report a validated, error-adjusted growth figure.
Infrastructure Monitoring
Watch corridors and assets on a cadence for encroachment, disturbance, ground motion, and hazard exposure, and turn the result into a ranked inspection queue.
